Shailene Jackson Promoted To Asst. Operations Manager of Cape Cod Broadcasting
Hyannis, MA – Gregory D. Bone, General Partner of Cape Cod Broadcasting, has announced the promotion of 99.9 WQRC morning host Shailene Jackson to the position of Assistant Operations Manager.
“To me,” Jackson said, “new responsibilities equal new challenges and new adventures. My personal goal when I joined Cape Cod Broadcasting was to learn as much as I could about the company’s different departments and functions. Remaining focused on that goal has helped me grow within the organization, and of that I’m very proud!” Jackson, who originally joined the Cape Cod Broadcasting team as an undergraduate intern from Boston University, has made steady strides toward more responsibility since arriving in 2001. Following her internship, Jackson’s continued part-time on-air work for the company led to a fulltime position in 2007 as Creative Director and afternoon host on (what became) Cape Country 104. In 2009, Jackson segued to a commercial traffic director’s position within Cape Cod Broadcasting and soon after made the on-air move to mornings on Cape Country 104. With the recent transition of veteran personality Cheryl Park to afternoons on 99.9 WQRC, Jackson assumed the position of morning host on that station.
Bone commented on Jackson’s growth within Cape Cod Broadcasting noting, “Shailene’s intelligence, ability and passion for excellence have been evident since the day she joined our team as a wide-eyed intern. To see her mature into new responsibilities and progress through the company’s departments over the years has been impressive. The position of Assistant Operations Manager is the perfect next step for Shai, and I’m proud to promote her within the management structure of Cape Cod Broadcasting.”
