McKenna joined the station at the end of 2013 and has been architecting the format updates and new morning shows for months. “Jerry has been working with our team to give the stations a fresh sound,” explained Tilden, “this includes adding some new music, production and features along with Karen, Ralphie and personalities that will keep our stations modern, entertaining and with a real local element.”
Karen Blake has entertained listeners for decades in the Boston market and now she takes the reins of 99-9 The Q’s Morning Show. Karen began her career at KISS 108 in Boston and made stops at WZOU, Star 93.7, Oldies 103 and she was nominated for Major Market Radio Personality of the Year while at ZOU. Karen’ many years summering on Cape Cod will give her lots to relate to with The Q audience.

Ralphie and Karen were the morning show at Star 93.7 when then PD McKenna put them together. Ralph’s moved his family to the Cape and is already enthusiastic about the area.
They’ll be joined next week by Sean Doherty, Sean comes to CCB via KISS 108, JAMN 94.5 in Boston and Tucson Arizona. A native New Englander, Sean will appear on both shows with his upbeat and fun entertainment reports and Cape Cod lifestyle observations.
99-9 The Q – Cape Cod’s Fresh Mix core artists include, Pink, The Fray, Justin Timberlake, One Republic, Bruno Mars and Katie Perry. Pat Garret as production voice lends himself well to the new 99-9 The Q.
Ocean 104.7 Custom Crafted for the Cape counts James Taylor, Carole King, Gordon Lightfoot, the Eagles, later Beatles and Dylan as the core artists with modern singer/songwriters like John Mayer, Sarah Barellis and Colbie Callait. Ed McMann is the new station voice.
“The Cape is unique as a place to live and we wanted numerous ways to stay connected to the community. One way is Cape Club Rewards,” said Tilden adding one more angle to the new CCB. “The Cape Club is another way we’ll be in touch locally. A new feature with numerous contests, prizes, events that will allow Cape Club members to not only win prizes, but hang out with the station and guide the music that is “Custom Crafted for the Cape.” Tilden added, “With James Taylor and Carly Simon as members of the community, a vibrant local music scene and numerous other artists that love our shores, I’m pretty confident that Cape Codders will want to be heard when it comes to the music we play…especially on the new Ocean.”
